Session — Artist Entrepreneurship for Life
In a world of perpetually changing communication, distribution, and technology, today’s artists face innumerable and rapidly altering challenges to creating enduring artistic practices. An innovative curriculum focusing on a strategic management framework gives arts students a lasting and flexible foundation in approaching the business aspects of their creative practices, while simultaneously helping them identify contemporary tools and tactics to implement in service of their self-determined ideals of artistic success. Combining her extensive experience as a professor and an artist professional development practitioner working with artists in the field, Scott explores the art entrepreneurship pedagogies art faculty employ with their students.
